Inspiration song:…

It's super late over here, but I really wanted to finish this and upload it today, so here it is.

This was the first time I tried to imitate broken glass. I used this tutorial I found over Google:…

A little bit more Sunset Shimmer. I blame Mandopony and his awesome song about her that I made this drawing.

It doesn't really matter how Equestria Girls handeled Sunset Shimmer, I still freakishly love the concept idea behind her (I'm talking about being Celestia's former personal student of course).

Dammit, Youtube says the inspiration song is listed as "private" (I hate when that happens).  And it's a damn shame too, because judging by the quality of this picture, it must be one Hell of a song.  Know of any alternative location where I can listen to it?

Celestia was wrong: Sunset Shimmer was ready to learn advanced magic like she wanted.
Everything that happened to Twilight should have been Sunset's. And she would have handled it better.

I don 't think her ability to handle the magic itself was the issue.  It's that whole adage "with great power comes great responsibility".  She may not have been responsible enough.  And the majority of the times we don't see the problems ouselves.  Celestia may have seen too many signs that she could possibly be corrupted by the power, and so wanted to hold off a little longer until she was ready. When a master says one is not ready, their words are to be heeded.  I see this as the same scenario as Ti-Lung and Master Shifu from Kung Fu Panda.

Celestia does have a history of bad judgement though; her sister pre-Nightmare Moon, Discord with Tirek, not noticing Cadance was an imposter, a LOT of ponies were put in danger by these lapses in judgement. Maybe this was one of them. Maybe she didn't could have handled Sunset's impatience better? Maybe Sunset should have had a few friends to talk sense into her. <shrug>
You bring up a good point.

Well yea. I'm not sayng Celestia's infallible.  But I think she knew Discord would betray them.  She doesn't strike me as the type that is that foolish.  And you're right about noticing Cadence.  Can't they sense magic, kind of like a smell?  Each pony's different, and changling magic is way different than alicorn magic. She totally should have been able to pick up on that.  But the fact that Sunset Shimmer was impatient, is proof enough that she wasn't quite ready yet.  But do I think she could have eventually handled it?  Absolutely!  I think it was Twilight's natural facination with learning, and mostly her modesty, that helped her out.
